Sample Email Workout
WEEKLY PROMPT (in this case two—for poetry or prose)
1. That wasn’t gum on his shoes—
2. I've shucked a nightie or two myself—
Write as FAST as you can, without stopping, without knowing where
you’re going, for any amount of time: 2 minutes or 20 minutes. As you write,
look up three separate times and grab an object from your surroundings. Go with
whatever comes up: from lamp (literal) to prison (metaphorical—we hope).
That word gets placed in your piece immediately. See where it takes you. DON'T
STOP EVEN WHEN YOU WANT TO. |
