About Your Coach:

Tatyana Mishel's teaching philosophy emphasizes writing into the Surprise, taking Risks and keeping the creative muscle in shape through play. She has written journalism, short stories, a novella, two novels and hundreds of poems. Her poems and interviews have been published in Swivel, CALYX, Cranky Literary Journal, Floating Bridge Press's Pontoon, Kiss and Part, an anthology of humorous breakup poems, and others. Tatyana received her MFA from Antioch University in Fiction and Poetry. A former editor of ELLE magazine, she also writes book features for the Seattle P.I. When not writing sonnets or whipping her workshops into iambic submissions, she is finding too many athletic metaphors while running the trails, swimming or biking. Learn more
